Effects of Intravenous Administration of Fat Emulsions and Their Emulsifying Agents I. Effects on Clearing Factor Activity, Electrophoretic Pattern and Clotting Time of Blood of Dogs* Preliminary Report
نویسنده
چکیده
It was observed in this laboratory that intravenous infusions of a cottonseed oil emulsion containing soybean phosphatides and Pluronie1 as emulsifying agents lowered the abnormally high serum lipid levels of patients with idiopathic hyperlipemia and primary hypercholesteremic xanthomatosis (1). It was then found that a single infusion of this emulsion given to fasting human subjects or dogs caused an increase in the speed of electrophoretic migration of both the alpha and beta lipoproteins of the serum (2). Further studies of the effects of intravenous administrations of cottonseed oil emulsion and its emulsifying agents on the serum of dogs are presented in this preliminary report.

The effects of short term intravenous infusion of a soybean based lipid emulsion on some blood constituents in sheep: A preliminary study
To evaluate the effect of intravenous infusion of a soybean based lipid emulsion (Lipovenoes 10%) on some blood constituents in sheep, a replicated 2 × 2 Latin square design experiment was conducted in four clinically healthy ewes. Lipid emulsion (LE group) or normal saline (NS group) was infused intravenously at a rate of 0.025 mL kg-1 per min for 6 hr and the concentrations of bloo...

Two dogs with generalized seizures were evaluated. The dogs were diagnosed with traumatic intracranial hemorrhages based on the history, neurological examinations, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain. Treatment was started with oxygen, prednisolone and anticonvulsant agents. No further seizure activity was observed after treatment in both dogs, however cushing reflex was detected ...
متن کاملReversal of Cardiovascular Toxicity in Severe Organophosphate Poisoning with 20% Intralipid Emulsion Therapy: Case Report and Review of Literature
Background: Cardiac toxicity is one of the life-threatening effects of severe organophosphate (OP) poisoning. We presented a patient with severe OP poisoning, in cardiovascular shock poorly responsive to conventional treatments, who could be resuscitated successfully with intravenous lipid emulsion (ILE) therapy. Case report: A 26-year-old female was admitted to our emergency department who had...
متن کاملEffects of Combination of Intravenous Anesthetic Agents on Human Glycine Receptor evaluated by Artificial Neural Networks
Introduction: Intravenous general anesthetic agents are among the most important and widely used anesthetic drugs in the clinical practice. Many pharmacological studies have shown that potentiation of GABA and glycine on their receptors is the most plausible mechanism. Nevertheless, there is limited information on the effects of co-administration of two or more of these agents. However, expe...
